At the beginning of the New Year of the Dog, may I take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy and prosperous year!
After we have reached the milestone of our Golden Jubilee last year, our Society has now commenced on a new era. Our Society will continue to promote exchange of professional knowledge and skills among local and international experts; maintain fraternity among local anaesthetists as well as with other sister anaesthetic societies both in Mainland China and internationally; and also support the training of nurses and anaesthetic assistants. This year will see more emphasis being put on promoting public health education.
Our Society is currently participating in a series of health radio programmes (ºëÆF¤@ÂI) on RTHK. Experts on various subspecialties including anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine were invited to talk in the programme. Those who are interested can listen to the archived programmes on the RTHK website:
The Spring Dinner will be held on 16th February 2006. As a token of thanks and appreciation, our Society will invite all honorary lecturers and those who have helped in organizing functions for the Society in the previous year to come. Other members are also welcome, and our Society will sponsor part of the expenses. Please contact our Secretary, Dr Libby Lee, for details.
The Certificate Course of Anaesthetic Nursing will begin on 2nd March 2006. I would like to thank Dr CW Cheung for putting such a great effort in organizing the course.
Our Society will continue to offer grants for conference, research and clinical attachment this year. For details, please contact our Secretary, Dr Libby Lee.
